Conflict Studies: The New Generation of Ideas; Seventh Biennial Graduate Student Conference

Note: Proposals are due May 1, 2008. We encourage current students and recent graduates (within the last 2 years) of doctoral, masters, law or graduate certificate programs to submit proposals on a conflict related topic. We ask applicants to be mindful of the multidisciplinary nature of the conference and strive to make their work accessible to those trained in other disciplines. The conference is an opportunity for graduate students who are studying conflict in diverse contexts and disciplines to come together and share their research and ideas. In addition to showcasing graduate student papers, the conference will feature keynote addresses by noted scholars and practitioners, skill building workshops, and opportunities to network with practitioners, scholars and fellow students. The conference is held in the state-of-the-art Campus Center of the University of Massachusetts Boston, allowing participants easy access to the City of Boston with its wealth of educational and cultural resources. Note: Submission deadline: April 15, 2008. TASH is currently accepting proposals for presentations for its 2008 Annual Conference. TASH requires that proposals reflect the values of TASH, especially in relation to the following: The proposal title, description, and content must use people first language and reflect the values of inclusive communities and quality lives. Presentations must reflect the participation of individuals with severe disabilities in inclusive contexts, including community living and access, or movement from congregate living situations to privately owned homes; and TASH encourages proposals that are culturally responsive and reflect cultural and linguistic diversity. Also, describing ongoing innovative research and demonstration efforts are encouraged. CHADD - 20th Annual International Conference on AD/HD

CALL FOR PAPERS Although the Conference is not until November, CHADD is accepting proposals for research presentations. The CHADD Annual International Conference is the major research, practice and public information conference dedicated to issues related to AD/HD. Conference sessions will focus on providing current science-based information and the impact of this information on treatment plans for individuals with AD/HD. The conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, educators, adults with AD/HD, parents, and others. For PROPOSALS, empirical studies and best practices science-based intervention strategies are preferred, but others will be given consideration. Of special interest are presentations that address cultural diversity. The deadline for submissions (online only please) is Wednesday, January 30, 2008.
