Part-time Mid Oregon Regional Trainer
"Oregon PTI encourages, educates & empowers families to collaboratively achieve unlimited success for their children with disabilities" with a commitment to serving and educating every single community in our state. The Mid Oregon Regional Trainer (.75FTE / and serving 9 Oregon counties) will help families and communities connect to and access the supports they need, to teach individuals how to advocate for children and learn about their rights and responsibilities in order to achieve an appropriate education. While working directly under the Resource Director, the ideal candidate should have leadership experience, interpersonal communication skills, a strong interest or knowledge of special education, disability service systems and family supports. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Self motivation is important as the Trainer will work from their home office. Responsibilities include: Plan, prepare and present educational trainings within the mid Oregon region; Cultivate community contacts within region and promote Oregon PTI trainings and programs; Serve on pertinent local and state committees, boards and task forces as assigned; Manage and maintain all OrPTI Paperwork; Work with the Resource Director on curriculum and handout revisions; Respond to parent and agency requests for assistance. These are grant funded positions, salary ranges are $47,500-$67,500, depending upon position, education and experience. TACS assists State Education and Lead Agencies. Also Noteable: TACS operates the Western Regional Resource Center (WRRC/see contacts below) that provides quality programs and services for children with disabilites and their families. They offer consultation, technical assistance, etc. to providers across regional boundaries. TACS EMPLOYEES DUTIES may include conducting policy analyses for program evaluations, researching a wide variety of improvements concerning students with disabilities, advising clients regarding assistance, working on culturally appropriate activities including training activities and teleconferences where research-based practices are disseminated. Employees may produce presentations and publications for a variety of cultural audiences, and facilitate state efforts to implement the requirements of IDEA and NCLB. Travel is required. Conflict Studies: The New Generation of Ideas; Eighth Biennial Graduate Student Conference

Keynote addresses, workshops and networking will join with showcasing graduate student papers at the October 2010 Conflict Studies conference. We are seeking papers on any and all aspects of conflict analysis, resolution, and mangement. We encourage current students and recent graduates [within the last 2 years] of doctoral, masters, law or graduate certificate programs to submit proposals. Topics may include, but are not limited to: International & Political Conflict, Negotiation & Mediation Practice, Culture and Identity, Media and Conflict, Religion Education and Youth, Health Care Conflict, Gender and Violence, Conflict Prevention & Transformation, Theory as an Analytical Tool, Conflict Invention Strategies, Restorative Practice of Law, Organizational Conflict, Democracy Decentralization and Divided Societies, and Human Security and Human Rights. We encourage proposals for papers from as many disciplines as possible, ranging from anthropology to environmental studies, international affairs to law, peace studies to urban planning, business management, etc. Please visit www.disres.umb.edu/conference for requirements of papers. ACR 10th Annual Conference, Many Paths: One Destination

Note: The deadline for submitting your proposal is 11pm EST on Friday, November 20, 2009. The One Destination: Peaceful Conflict Resolution. Over the past 10 years, we as a community have seen an evolving and growing need for high quality conflict resolution, from the international to the interpersonal level. Our 2010 Conference is an excellent time to celebrate the essence of ACR, an organization that embraces and acknowledges the full spectrum of peaceful conflict resolution and recognizes the value of cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural connections to enhance conflict resolution choices universally. ACR embodies "Many Paths: One Destination," this year's conference theme. When thinking about proposals for the 2010 conference, consider the theme and how ACR represents the many paths that we travel. We invite proposals that highlight: Similarities and possibilities for relationships across Sections, illus­trating the interconnectedness of our work and our field; Cutting edge practices and programs that are successful, unique and/or replicable; Research areas that benefit the field and beyond: what are the con­nections between theory and practice? What research findings will help us reach our destination?; Theoretical and philosophical underpinning of conflict and its resolution; and Advanced techniques and skill building. In addition to ACR's traditional 60 minute facilitated discussions on Diversity & Equity, proposals are invited for 90 minute mainstream track sessions on research, skill building and practice enhancements in resolving disputes among diverse and underserved clientele. We invite proposals on racism, sexism, ageism and cross cultural issues; and please join ACR in celebrating its 10th Annual Conference in Chicago, September 1-4, 2010.

3rd International Conf. Building Infrastructures for Change: Innovations in Conflict Resolution Education and Justice Initiatives
