Collaborative Problem Solving and Dispute Resolution in Special Education

by Rod Windle, Ph.D. and Suzanne Warren, M.S.
Forward

This training manual was developed to accompany a two-day workshop on dispute resolution in special education. Our workshops are created for both parents and educators, and are intended to foster collaboration, cooperation and conversation. Accordingly, our intent has been to produce training materials that are easily readable and free of jargon, while still working accurately within the framework of special education law.

This training manual covers roughly the same content as the workshop. However, some aspects are dealt with more thoroughly in this manual, and some are emphasized in the hands-on aspects of the workshop.

We have posted this manual on the CADRE website for the use and benefit of all. We give permission for full or partial reproduction and dissemination, so long as proper credit is given to the authors.
