The Mediation Option

Mediation may be thought of as "assisted negotiation." The mediator, an impartial and mutually acceptable helper, assists parents and schools to reach agreement with regard to the education of a child.

We encourage you to review the Main Statutory Provision for Mediation Under IDEA '04 and the recently issued Main Regulation for Mediation Under IDEA '04.
