Jim Melamed founded The Mediation Center in Eugene, Oregon in 1983 and co-founded (with John Helie) The Mediation Information & Resource Center (MIRC) on the world wide web at www.mediate.com. Jim served as Executive Director of the international Academy of FamilyMediators (AFM) from 1987-93 and as Chair of the Oregon Dispute ResolutionCommission (ODRC) from 1992-94. Jim is currently on the Advisory Committeeto the ODRC.Jim is a member of the Oregon State Bar, an Approved Consultant with theAcademy of Family Mediators and a member of the Editorial Board of MediationQuarterly. Jim taught Negotiation and Mediation at the University of Oregon School of Law from 1987-96 and is currently a visiting professor at Pepperdine Law School.
