and at www.to-agree.com, with Director James C. Melamed, J.D., is an international provider of mediation and conflict resolution Training, Resources and Services,
emphasizing "Resourceful Mediation" and full utilization of the Internet in Dispute Resolution.

Jim Melamed founded The Mediation Center in Eugene, Oregon in 1983 and co-founded (with John Helie) The Mediation Information & Resource Center (MIRC) on the world wide web at www.mediate.com. Jim served as Executive Director of the international Academy of FamilyMediators (AFM) from 1987-93 and as Chair of the Oregon Dispute ResolutionCommission (ODRC) from 1992-94. Jim is currently on the Advisory Committeeto the ODRC.Jim is a member of the Oregon State Bar, an Approved Consultant with theAcademy of Family Mediators and a member of the Editorial Board of MediationQuarterly. Jim taught Negotiation and Mediation at the University of Oregon School of Law from 1987-96 and is currently a visiting professor at Pepperdine Law School. Jim was the first President and Executive Director of the Oregon Mediation Association.

Special Education and Conflict Resolution Experience

Jim Melamed begain training special education mediators in 1994 and has worked with the following states and territories: Bureau of Indian Affairs, Nebraska, Oregon, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. In 1998, Jim trained over 400 parents, teachers, specialists and administrators in Oregon as part of a Conflict Resolution System Design in Education initiative sponsored by the Oregon Department of Education.
