Overall Mediation Training and Consultation Services:

Certified in basic mediation, 1996-Certified in Family/divorce, 1999.Our 14 year old firm currently has major clients in at least 8 states, most of consultation and training is in regard to assisting schools provide a free, appropiate education in inclusive settings. We believe that disagreements between the parties( parents and schools) can be benificial to students if the appropiate problem-solving techniques can be employed. We assume that both parties have the child's best interest at heart, but just haven't been able to really understand the other's viewpoints-for whatever reasons. Mediation- if really seen as mutually benificial- can create a more trusting environment for problem-solving.Our experience has been that mediation almost always works- if the attornies are either absent, or in the background.

Familiarity with special education, early intervention and IDEA '97 regulations:

Our firms' associates represent over 200 years of experience in education- most of it in special education, either as special education teachers , diagnosticians, counselors, or administrators.One of senior associates worked at OSEP (then BEH) when the original 94-142 regs were written and has continued to be involved in the national dream of FAPE for all students with disabilities, including the re-authorization in 97
