Welcome to Direction Service!
"Helping people with disabilities and special needs live the fullest lives possible.".
Direction Service is a multi-program organization that has helped people with special needs, and their families, live their lives to the fullest since 1976. The organization has three major programs:
Direction Service Counseling Center provides the full range of mental health services to very young children, children and adolescents, families, adults, and elders. These services include: comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, individual and family therapy, skill building, group therapy and consultation. The Counseling Center provides service to clients experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and childhood impulse and behavioral disorders. Personnel are particularly adept at providing services to clients and families who experience developmental disabilities in combination with mental and emotional disorders.
Center for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education (CADRE) works to increase the nation’s capacity to effectively resolve special education disputes, reducing the use of expensive adversarial processes. CADRE is funded by the Office of Special Education Programs at the US Department of Education to work throughout the United States with state and local education and early intervention systems, parent centers, families and educators to enable participation in collaborative problem-solving, ultimately improving programs and results for children with disabilities and their families.
